Account Manager UK & Europe: Super Resolution Imaging: Oxfordshire: £30-40K basic plus uncapped incentive scheme plus additional benefits.


Our client manufacture and sell the latest generation of single-molecule microscopes, capable of super-resolution imaging. This is the cutting edge of interdisciplinary biological research, which won a Nobel prize just two years ago and was only invented and developed within the last twenty years: it depicts cells in the greatest possible detail.
The company has spun out from the University of Oxford, from the world-renowned laboratory of Professor Achilles Kapanidis. The goal is to deliver advanced yet bench-top instrumentation to the academic and wider research community. With a radically new design, the company expect to broaden the accessibility of single-molecule techniques, introducing them to new and exciting biological applications.
The present team is a blend of experienced single-molecule researchers, mixed with commercial know-how and experience of successfully growing a business from inception to exit.

The role:
As Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing commercial activities on a global basis initially but with time, within a more narrow and mutually agreed territory.
You will be responsible for developing sales opportunities, working with the technical team to demonstrate the capabilities of the instrument and ultimately closing the sale. The company approach is consultative and therefore an innate understanding of customer requirements and the capabilities of the instrument are required.
Post-sale support is paramount and therefore as Account Manager you will also be responsible for managing customer relationships both pre-sale and post-sale. One-to-one training will be provided by a range of technical and commercial personnel within the business.

You will report to the Global Sales Manager


You will require:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant biological science.
- Demonstrable experience and success in a sales environment and preferably within technical instrumentation sales.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Ability to travel extensively on a global basis.
- Experience of working with contact management systems
- Ability to manage and develop a robust sales pipeline
- Ideally located within an easy commute of Oxfordshire.
