Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology - Hampshire - to £45k

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative organisation and help support the fight against diseases across the globe, including COVID-19. Based from their site in Hampshire you will lead a team in the design and development of CE IVD diagnostic assays and innovative molecular diagnostics solutions. As Senior Scientist you will be the glue that binds a number of activities including but not exclusive to the following;
Product development
Support of project planning
Utilisation of advanced techniques and demonstration of diverse knowledge of molecular biology principles
Provision of technical support
Documentation and presentation of results

It is envisaged that to be successful in this role you will be able to evidence:

Proven experience within a similar scientific role in industry
Previous PCR knowledge and hands-on experience
The ability to plan experiments, solve problems and progress projects independently
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related scientific field

A PhD in a related field would be beneficial, as would experience of working within a quality system, such as ISO 13485. Experience of any of the following would also be an advantage: scientific product development or creating complex study designs, statistical data analysis, or handling Hazard Group 2 organisms in a Category 2 laboratory.
