A Very Wise Woman......

A very wise woman I know has over the years given me a number of opportunities and left me with a set of values that make up the very essence of what we are about at Delta. One other thing she left me was a printed copy of a quote and I have it in front of me so that I can see it each day. Sometimes I ignore it but often it gives me comfort so I would like to share it with you all -

"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could.

If some absurdity crept in forget that as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

These words are very true and for those who think I have endless patience and glide like a swan through my day you may be surprised to know I am paddling like billy-o and often my heart is pounding thinking about all the items on my To-Do List. You can only achieve what you can achieve. A candidate I interviewed recently really made me think when he said "I only have one or two things to do on my list each day and that means I always go home feeling satisfied and have over achieved". I am taking a leaf out of his book for 2016 and making sure I complete the tasks that really matter rather than the ones that just fill up my page.
