£45000 - £47000 per annum

IT Product Specialist - Lab IT - Field Based - up to £47k base plus car, substantial bonus and benefits

Leading supplier of Haematology and Coagulation products currently seek a high calibre IT Product Specialist to support their expanding customer base in mainland UK and their distributors in Eire and Northern Ireland. The role may involve overseas travel for training purposes. The role is field based with a requirement to attend the office one week out of seven.

You will be responsible for the support of the company's customers in relation to data-management installations, troubleshooting, virtualisation and networking.

You will work closely in a support capacity with the sales team plus the relevant team leader in overall management of the business area. You will travel a substantial amount of your time in order to provide tech support and software upgrades so a flexible approach is essential plus you will be responsible for the correct and timely planning and installation of equipment as well as providing customer training.

You will ideally be degree educated (or equivalent) in a Biomedical Science and will have a good depth of knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and IT troubleshooting. Ideally you will have experience gained in the diagnostic laboratory industry and have skills in IT software and hardware from an applications support/help desk perspective.

Personal characteristics sought for this role are self motivation, friendliness, team player, organised and structured.

A full UK driving licence is a pre-requisite to be considered for this role as TCP/IP awareness, experience of Remote IT support and proven work experience in a biomedical sciences lab. You will ideally have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject plus training qualifications and work experience gained in a laboratory. You will be IT literate to a standard that you can provide training on IT products.
